Michigan Apple Orchards Peaking

Michigan has 950 apples orchards, offering fun activities even if you are not an apple lover.  October in Michigan brings out the beautiful fall colors and the small of hot cider.  You can find hayrides, petting zoos, haunted houses, pumpkins and corn mazes at many of Michigan Cider and Apple Orchards.

Several orchards remain open will into November and some even stay open until Christmas – but for the most part the season ends after Halloween.  This weekend is Ciderfest 2007 in Holly Michigan at Diehl’s Orchard and Cider Mill.  A craft show, one-mile fun run and a four-mile run on Saturday morning as well as an apple pie baking contest are just some of the fun actives featured at this years Michigan Ciderfest 2007.

October 6 and 7 marks the 11th Annual Harvest Festival at Parker’s Orchard in Millington, just about 15 miles east of Frankenmuth.  You can also take in Michigan’s Fall Colors while visiting this apple orchard.

One of my favorites is Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill in Armada, no matter which Michigan Cider Mill or Apple Orchard you choose be sure to make at least one family trip out and enjoy the fun and festivities during this fall season.
