18,000 Ann Arbor Michigan Homes Solar Power Candidates

A new online service launched Wednesday by the city of Ann Arbor Michigan helps the 21,000 plus homes in Ann Arbor evaluate their home’s solar energy potential.  Of the 21, 000 homes a whopping 18,000 qualify for Solar Power roof modules.

Residents can get a free solar power analysis from the site, www.a2gov.org under the “my property information” heading – then by clicking on “solar potential”

The University of Michigan’s partnership and several other city units will help Ann Arbor reach the goal of 5,000 Solar Roofs and 20% renewable energy by the year 2015. In making this goal a reality the city Energy Commission worked with the Information Technology Services Unit to provide the sites home analysis.

This is a great move in the right direct; I hope that other cities follow Ann Arbors lead in Going Green.
