16,000 Plus Southeastern Michigan Jobs Created In 2007

An Economic report shows $4 billion investment in Southeast Michigan in 2007.  The Economic Development Coalition of Southeast Michigan released its report of business attraction and expansion successes during calendar year 2007 on Tuesday. During that period, EDCSEM member agencies engaged in business activity expected to yield a total of 117 new projects representing $4 billion in investment to the region. Washtenaw County Sets Foreclosure Record

Home foreclosures hit another record high in Washtenaw and Livingston counties in April; experts predict the troubled counties and the entire state of Michigan won't turn around until late 2009. Some 280 homes were sold at a sheriff's auction last month between the two counties, records show. Homes are typically put up for auction after a homeowner has missed three or more monthly mortgage payments.
