Southgate MI, March 30, 2010 – Barb and Philip Grobbel, owners of G.Philip’s Café-Catering-Cooking know the true meaning of hard work and passion. After leaving the corporate world about four years ago in the midst of the economical turbulence, they have made it through troubled times and are now expanding. “We knew that the Corporate World was still doing business holding on site trainings and meetings so we went after that business” said Barbara Grobbel. Barbara has always been in Hotel Sales proving outstanding success records in her field at properties across the Detroit Area, Orlando and right here in our back yard of Southgate. “I can create menus for you within your budget for your function just by having a 5 minute conversation with you” she brags as menu writing is one of her favorite things to do and her many clients have been quoted as having the best experiences working with Barbara. Barbara’s expertise in her field goes hand in hand with Executive Chef Phil’s background. Phil was trained by the finest of Chef’s. These Chefs would not even allow can openers in their kitchens. Executive Chef Phil has fine dining experience in Metro Detroit restaurants, numerous years at the Hotel Pontchartrain, and a 10 year career with a Hotel Investment Company, directing opening properties such as the St. John’s Golf & Conference Center.

“Starting off as what we called a Glorified Pretzel Stand” was not easy states Phil. “I went from carving extravagant ice carvings to selling pretzels.” Barb persistently told him it was only temporary and great things were coming their way. “Everyone loves our food” and “Every Bites Matters” is all she kept saying and she was right! They are happy to announce that they are now the proud Exclusive Caterers at the Robert J. Jones Counsel Knights of Columbus Hall on Outer Drive. “The place is amazing” said Barbara. “Two incredible banquet rooms complete with chandeliers, dance floors and beautiful built in bars. I can’t wait to wow the members with the variety of food we can cook for them and they will now have choices! We can host almost 600 people at a time!” said a very excited Barb “This is what we have been waiting for! “I knew God would pull thru for us!” Now G.Philip’s can continue serving its strong Corporate base delivering lunches such as Signature Sandwich Displays with Homemade Chips and Dip to High Class Weddings, Baby & Bridal Showers, Class Reunions, Family Reunions, Funeral Lunches and Conventions. “A special rate has already been set up at local hotels for our clients” states Barb. We are looking forward to hiring and creating many jobs on different skill levels as well with this growth spurt!

Barb and Phil also have their Son and Chef/Operations Manager Brandon Hatfield (also in his second year at the Art Institute of Novi) , Chef and Graduate of Schoolcraft College Benjamin Schultheis, Chef Daniel Finkenbine also a graduate at School Craft College and Chef Carrie Grube a graduate of Sante Fe Culinary Institute in New Mexico.

“A man walked up to me at church on Sunday and said every time I see you and Phil I get hungry because all I can think about is your good food” stated Barb. She goes on to say this is what is making G.Philip’s grow as we believe “Every Bite Matters!” Call them today 734-281-9622 or at the K of C 313-382-5288 or visit the web site www.GPhilips.com .

Livonia MI, March 22, 2010 – Using the mind in mystery work always seemed to come easily for Sammi Evans and her creator Jeanne L. Drouillard. “No matter what I’ve done in my life, the most amazing thing to me is the power of mind, and we all possess this energy.” She in fact has done just that with her creative and thought provoking series featuring heroine Sammi Evans. Currently three books are available to the public who are looking for a little more in their mystery readings; “Thinking out Loud,” “Your Thoughts Can Trap You” and “Thoughts Can Be Murder.” Ms. Drouillard has written her entire life about the positive side of life, emphasizing what could be done with the power within us coupled with strong belief.

Ms. Drouillard prides herself on the positive slant her books portray and for those looking for a refreshing viewpoint with intriguing details and mystifying perspective these books were made to order. Recently Sammi went on-line and is featured in her new web site www.sammievansmysteries.com. She is also on Facebook for fans of all ages to follow. The books are currently available for purchase through Amazon and www.a-argusbooks.com. Sammi will continue to grow and teach valuable lessons which are incorporated in a fourth book that is almost completed. You won’t believe what happens in the fourth of this series thriller named “Sinister Thoughts Can Kill.” For more information about Jeanne L. Drouillard who will be featured at an upcoming Library Association Conference in Ocean City, Maryland, visit the web site at www.sammievansmysteries.com .

Now we can give them a style and they can arrive in style with our own King Louie Express limo.”

Business Benefits From On Call Administrative Assistant

As another year comes to a close, many businesses are scrambling to organize for the upcoming tax season. Others are making marketing plans for the New Year. When Karen Zuk, Administrative Specialist, established her new business this year she knew she could fill a niche needed in a challenging economy. “Many businesses have cut staff and I have found that there is a need for contract work on periodic projects.” Karen is just the “girl” for the job.

Her twenty some years experience in banking, automotive, manufacturing & restaurant management is just the ticket to get the job done in any industry. She acquired her skills while working as a sales assistant, systems analyst, office supervisor, trainer & receivables coordinator “All the work I do is held in strict confidence and satisfaction is guaranteed. My goal is to help business owners by organizing paperwork and doing administrative tasks so they can get back to running their business.” Said Zuk. “I enjoy office management, word processing and data entry which can be time consuming jobs for smaller companies.”

She also can help busy owners get their newsletter, mailing, power point presentation, annual report or manual done in record time with creativity and accuracy. “Some businesses need documents scanned, I do that. Others need training in Office products and I can do that in home or offices as well.” Explained Ms. Zuk.

Go to ADMINgirl is a solution for office organization and completing tedious tasks. It’s good to know a Go to ADMINgirl when an office project needs to be done correctly and on time.

September 2009 Trenton, Michigan – Mr. Handyman and Mr. Makeover otherwise known as Mark Slagle and David Orr presented the winner of a $150 Macy’s Gift card to Johnifay Tocco on September 9. The drawing was from registrations received at the Trenton Mid-Summer Festival, Wyandotte Art Fair, Parade & Fireworks, The Downriver Cruise and Novi Women’s International Expo. On September 10, Mr. Handyman participated in its first ever National Day of Service, contributing over 800 hours of charitable service to worthy individuals and organizations across the United States and Canada. Locally, Mr. Handyman of Southeastern Wayne County, located downtown Trenton, is also participating in this initiative by helping The Information Center, a private, non-profit organization located in Taylor that assists individuals in need. Mr. Handyman of SEWC is donating a full day of service to help a client in Trenton with several repairs on their home by sealing a leaking gutter, stopping the toilet from “running”, sealing the bathtub drain, repairing leaky bathtub faucets and applying a coat of non-skid adhesive to the outside wheelchair ramp. In addition to fixing these nagging repairs, the client should see a reduction in their water bill as well!

Mr. Handyman provides residential/commercial building maintenance and insurance repairs. They are the nation’s #1 professional handyman service with over 300 locations nationwide, Canada and China. Mr. Handyman of Southeastern Wayne County serves the Downriver community and surrounding areas and is owned by Mark Slagle, a lifelong downriver resident. His office was recognized as the #1 franchise location in North America in 2004. You can reach Mark at 888-671-5888 or at mslagle@mrhandyman.com.
